Jax Taylor is a lot of things — a gossip, a bad bartender, a proud father — the list goes on. One of the best ways to describe Jax is that he’s consistent. Just hear me out. Jax is consistent in his mess. He’s always stirring the pot or creating more drama. It’s like he is incapable of flying under the radar in any situation — it’s just integral to who Jax is.

Despite remaining consistent in his behavior, Jax is always trying to convince us that he’s working on himself. He tried to enter into his new phase on The Valley as a “changed” man from Vanderpump Rules, but we all saw right through that.

Now, amidst his separation from his wife Brittany Cartwright, Jax is trying his best to convince us all he’s Jax 2.0. At this point, it’s more like Jax 200.0.

Jax thinks single life is good for him

Jax and Brittany were recently invited to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Entertainment Tonight took advantage of the opportunity to catch up with Jax and get an update on his marriage.

As usual, Jax started things off by making a bad joke when asked if Brittany was his date for the evening. “Depends on how much we have to drink tonight,” he said. Oy vey.

He transitioned to providing a slightly more serious answer about their relationship status. Apparently, they’re still working things out and everything is up in the air.

“I am definitely working on myself right now,” Jax said. “The separation has definitely been good for me, but I do miss her. I miss her a lot. So, I don’t know, we’ll see if she’ll take me back.”

Jax really needs to grasp the concept of showing people rather than telling them of his changed ways, especially when it comes to his dynamic with Brittany.

The Valley continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
